15 YEAR OLD STABBED TO DEATH.

A boy of 15 was stabbed to death in a street attack in London on Saturday night, police said.

The boy, who has not been named, collapsed on the pavement in front of passers-by only a few hundred yards from West Ham's football stadium.

His murder comes just three days after 16-year-old Kodjo Yenga was stabbed to death while walking with his girlfriend on the other side of the capital in Hammersmith. The latest victim, like Kodjo, is black.

Police are searching for two youths seen near the murder scene at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road in Newham.

The victim was found at around 9.30pm on the pavement with blood pouring from a wound in his leg. He also had another stab wound, said police. An ambulance took him to Newham General Hospital where he died just before 11pm.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Stevenson, of the Metropolitan Police, said: "At this very early stage of the investigation, we are trying to build up a picture of events. The victim, although only 15, was tall for his age, was wearing white Nike trainers and casual clothing.

"He had been to the Showcase Cinema in Beckton with some friends earlier in the evening and may have travelled to Boundary Road by bus. Bus numbers 104 and 376 stop near to where he was found and we will be examining CCTV as a priority.

"Two youths were seen near to where the victim was found and I urgently need them to come forward as they may have vital information. Equally, I would appeal for anyone who may have seen the victim or the two youths in Kingsland Road to contact police."

Local councillor Pearson Shillingford, who went to the scene, said: "This is the first time this has happened in this part of Newham. I am very sad to hear of such an incident taking place, and my sympathy is with the community, and I know the community is very concerned about it.

"As far as I'm concerned, I've not heard of any gang in this area. I've heard of knife cases in neighbouring boroughs, but this is the first time that this has happened here, and let's hope it will be the last."
